It tries to get across the point that no matter how you attract the AIDS virus, you are just the same as any other person in the street. Like the film showed, some people would be frightened to touch something that someone with AIDS has touched even though there is no way that you could get the disease from that item. You cannot attract an illness like AIDS without the passing of fluids, either through intercourse or through the transfusion of blood.

Also, it shows that just because you have AIDS, it doesn't mean that your life has to stop. For a time you can still act how you used to and you can stand up for your self and your beliefs too.
