Didn't see the commercial but Katchachurian's Spartacus (The Onedin Line theme) forms part of the soundtrack for the program.

I also think I heard some of Thomas Newman's music from Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Blogs elsewhere mention Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime, Mr. Blue Sky and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
