Because He is married in real life?!?!?!

It doesn't exactly have a "name". It is The One Ring to rule them all. Forged by Sauron. But to my recollection it does not own a name of its own. This someone's else answer btw The ring of power. yes, "The Ring of Power" also known as "precious" Only Gollum/Smeagol reffered to the Ring of Power as his Precious, later followed by Bilbo Baggins. But The Ring of Power does not own an actual name, and the people of Middle Earth only called the Ring this to describe it's magic. Thus, to answer your question, the Ring does not have a real name.
The ring was made by Sauron, and when it was made, He put some of his power into it. Sauron was an Maia. Meaning he was one of first people on Arda, part of the Valar. The ring bears some of his life force, and whilst the ring is intact, sauron cannot be killed. The reason they have to travel to Mt. Doom to destroy the ring is because it was forged there and no other thing on arda can damage it Hope this helped
