Character Summary: Inkwell was born in Trottingham to Sheetrock and Meadowsweet, a roofer and an herbalist, respectively. The relative he ended up bonding with the most, however, was his grandfather, Chiaroscuro, a well-renowned painter. Inkwell had always been a fan of the arts, but was also an introvert, and had long been afraid to try his hoof at artistic endeavors himself, for fear of inadequacy. It wasn't until Chiaroscuro fell ill that he decided to take the plunge and finally start drawing. By the time he'd finished his first project, he'd earned his cutie mark, and Chiaroscuro expressed his pride in his grandson before passing away. Inkwell made his mind up; he'd come out of his shell and see the world.

He lived in a few different cities during his tour, usually lodging with fellow artists and networking with them in order to get the opportunity to sell his work. His most reliable source of income is as a freelance illustrator for books, scrolls, and magazines, with the occasional supplement coming from personal art commissions and selling paintings.

Now he's gained a great deal more confidence from years of traveling, or so he likes to think. He tries to play it smooth and cool when talking to others, playing the part of a cultured, dashing gentlecolt, but the faÃÆ'Ã'§ade often cracks when he gets nervous or is driven into a state of glee by the sight of something exciting and inspirational, reverting him to his old, awkward self.
