Advantage of us in sulphamic acid as a descaler is that it doesn't ruin whatever you are descaling.
disadvantage: it has a pungent smell
The advantages of sulfamic acid is it won't ruin anything you are descaling as opposed to acetic acid, which evaporates what you are descaling. On the other hand citric acid is weaker than the other two.
The process is usually referred to as pickling, or descaling.
It needs to be cleaned when the tubes are fully covered by deposits and when fuel consumption is increased.
Acids such as vinegar or use a proprietary kettle descaling fluid.
Soda ash is a white powder that is used for raising PH in water.
I would suggest to use the Descaling solution from Keurig, worked wonders with my brewer. Brewers should be descaled every 6 to 8 months. I bought the solution on their website, I am not sure if they carry it at other locations/retailers. http://search.keurig.ca/coffee/Descaling Keurig provides you instructions and ways to descale & clean your brew.
Descale your Tassimo machine every three months to keep it operating at full potential.* Descaling products are widely available from stores selling coffeemakers and espresso machines. Only use a product intended for descaling. Mix the descaling product directly in the water container, following the instructions provided on the descaling packaging. Replace the water container on the machine. * Place a large cup or mug on the cup stand, insert the cleaning disc, bar code down, and close the brew mechanism. When the AUTO light illuminates, press and release the start/stop button. The brew cycle will fill the machine with descaling solution. Empty the cup and let the machine stand for 15 minutes. * Open the brew mechanism and close it again, leaving the cleaning disc in place. When the AUTOlight illuminates, press and release the start/stop button. When the machine stops running, empty the cup, and let the machine stand for 15 minutes. Repeat this step two more times for maximum descaling effectiveness. Discard the remaining descaling agent from the water container, rinse it thoroughly and refill with fresh, cold water. * Open and close the brew mechanismagain, leaving the cleaning disc in place. When the AUTO light illuminates, press and hold the start/stop button to flush water through the machine. The MANUALlight will flash. When the cup is full, release the start/stop button, empty the cup, and replace it on the cup stand. * Repeat step 4, flushing clean water through the machine in the same manner and emptying the cup as it fills. To ensure that all the descaling solution is completely rinsed away, flush two full water containers through the machine before using it again.
Depends entirely upon the valve design and how it has failed. I would guess that it needs either simple cleaning/descaling or replacing, not repair.
Citroclean is made of cirtic acid so it would be: Citric acid+Calcium carbonate-->Calcium citrate+Carbon dioxide+water
