The Hobbit is set in Middle Earth in the Third Age. It stays mostly in The Shire and the northern parts of the area, totally avoiding the areas that become the focus of The Lord of the Rings.
One morning, after breakfast, Bilbo Baggins the Hobbit was standing at his door, right after breakfast time, smoking an enormous wooden pipe. Then Gandalf the wizard came. He talked to Bilbo and then said he would send the Hobbit on a quest.
The story starts at Hobbiton, then changes to Bree and the "Sing of the Prancing Pony". Next, it goes to the Barrow-Downs, where Tom Bombadil saves the hobbits from the Barrow-Wights. The setting is changed often( about once every one or two chapters, so it will take a very long time to get them all down. The first book ends when Boromir is killed and the Fellowship is broken.
The proper order is Shire, Old Forest, Barrow-Downs, thenBree. And it is Peter Jackson's FotR movie that ends with Boromir's death. The first volume of the original LotR book ends with Frodo and Sam leaving; Boromir's death and the other hobbits' capture are at the beginning of volume two, aka The Two Towers.
Generally it takes place in Middle Earth.
Some towns or sites that are shown in the Fellowship of the Ring include Hobbiton, Bree, Rivendell, the Mines of Moria, and Lothlorien.
Chapter 6 is set in a moonlit clearing.
It does not appear in the first chapter of The Hobbit.

THE GREAT holy hole
The role of the setting in this chapter shows the size of the area where the dragon lives. There's no green, everything is rocky and jagged. The setting of the place is an obstacle to the team. It makes it difficult for the team to find the hidden door. Also the thrush is like a crow which Bilbo thinks is spying on them.
That will depend on what version you have. It is used in Chapter 1 and is about page 6 or so when Bilbo complains about the dwarves knowing what he has in has larder.
