No, you can only use it if you have a monster. Yes you keep their monster for the entire duel unless it is destroyed, then it is sent back to THEIR graveyard NOT yours. If it is returned to the hand it will do to the owners hand
If your opponents activates a card effect that removes a monster on the field from play does would it be counted as being destroyed?
No. remove from play means that you can't use it again in the current duel, such as if you get a monster removed from play, then you can't bring it back with monster reborn or any other effects, spells, or traps.
In a duel when you increase a monsters level does its attack increase too?
Not unless the monster actually does have an effect that says the ATK changes with the level, ie, Fortune Ladies.
How does a monster gain a star in duelists of the roses?
Keep using it over and over. It gains more rank EXP if you use multiples of the card in the same duel. Good luck!
