The Hunger Games takes place in who knows how many years into the future, in the ruins of what was formerly known as North America, and is now known as Panem. District 12 is the poorest and least-strict district of the twelve that surround the Capitol, the center of their world. The Hunger Games are a form of entertainment created by the Capitol to suffice the bored citizens of the center, and it's both a simple and complicated process. Two children (one boy, one girl) from each district must be sent to the Capitol and into the wretched arena. The arena, in short, is a fight to the death. One tribute can win. One person will live. The other twenty-three will die.

If you want true input on the book, that is something that I will not produce. What happens with Katniss Everdeen and her experience is a different story, and I don't want to give away the ending.
