On the surface it's about a 'lone traveler' going on a journey through cold, wintery conditions...

But of course that's not really what it's about. I believe it's about the journey an author goes through when writing.

'A sentence starts out like a lone traveler heading into a blizzard at mighnight' - Beginning to write.. the sentence has started yet he doesn't know where it's going because he cannot see it.

'There are easier ways of making sense.....gesture for example' - A gesture is full of much more meaning than anything he could write down in words. A Gesture can be seen in so many different way and beg so many questions. Ambiguity.

He's showing the difficulties writers face. The snow is almost like paper. A blank canvas. And at the end..he reaches the warm place. He's reached his goal after a hard journey. As in... completing his story..or even his sentence.
