"Medium" or "media" is the material used to create a piece of artwork. Examples would be oil paint, graphite (pencil), Photoshop, mixed media (combinations of different medias), etc. A medium is related to art, because every piece of art is made out of something in order for it to be visual. An artist's use of a particular media could also say a lot about the artist or their work. For example, an artist may use photography as their medium of choice, because they are interested in capturing the beauties and horrors of life. A medium, in art, may also be a translucent liquid that thins out paint. See "matte medium."

The right medium will complement the artist's subject and improve the overall quality of the artwork; the wrong medium can detract from it.
Muhammd Ali "Athlete of the Century" serigraphs w/ Remarque by LeRoy Neiman are available for purchase online around $8,000-$10,000 or "best offer". I do not like to use retail pricing as a valuation as something is only worth what someone will pay for it - i.e. a "realized price". I would suggest that if you were to auction it, it would sell in the $6,000-$8,000 range. Of the edition of 850, I'm not sure how many exhibit the Remarque - but it certainly helps the value and adds a premium over the other serigraphs in the edition.

A medium is what ever you are making your piece of art out of. Such as: paper for a painting, clay for a clay bowl, wall or ceiling for a mural, etc.A medium in art is an object or item used to make the piece of art that you are making. For example, if I drew a picture of a house, with some crayons, a pencil, and markers, the medium for that piece of art would be the pencil, the crayons, and the markers.
