Ava wasn't motivated. She went to New York and did the screen tests. She was picked because of her beauty. Shortly after she got to Hollywood, they started changing her-the way she looked and talked-and they dubbed her voice after The Killers movie. She resented this and became very defiant. She never tried really hard to be a great actress and did the bare minimum to get paid. She ended up telling people later she was a lousy movie star and felt she was only good at taking care of a man and cooking.
