So far the only times you can catch Mew or obtain it are within Red, Blue, Yellow, and My Pokemon Ranch. Red, Blue, and Yellow requires a glitch to create Mew's appearance this is the only way to recieve since it apparently never existed until this glitch was discovered. My Pokemon Ranch is a Wiiware game that allows the player to interact and enjoy many Pokemon in one big ranch apparently if you help out the ranch owner by giving her pokemon from your Diamond and Pearl games she will give you an egg and if you hatch it in those games it will be Mew.
