The main part that quidditch plays in the 6th book is the love triangle between Harry, Ginny, and Dean Thomas. Harry has to accept Dean onto the team unwillingly because Katie Bell is severly injured. He is happy to get rid of him afterwards. It also shows what Harry is missing in his Occlumency lessons and Detentions with Snape
Severus Snape had given him detention every Saturday after he almost killed Draco Malfoy.
Harry plays Seeker throughout the books.
I'm trying to figure out but it surely does play. Nick Jonas said himself during their webchat on 3rd March, 2010.
No. Harry plays Quidditch during a cutscene, but you can't control him.
Seeker
The only place to play Quidditch in HBP is at the Quidditch Pitch, which you can get to by going through the cavern under the Owlrey or across the back field behind Herbology.
You have a chance to go back and become Duelling champion, play games of Quidditch, collect all of the crests and master all of the potions.
You are always Harry during the main parts of the game except for the time you are Ron when he eats the love potion, and Ginny for the last Quidditch Match.

Yes, Quidditch is available both in the main storyline and as side challenges. Although, Quidditch is fairly different in this game as you can only be the seeker and you must follow a track of stars to the end to catch the snitch. If you miss or don't gain enough time between stars, you can run out of time and lose, however.
You can't.
No
Yes, she is. But she does not play a major role.
Yes, Harry becomes the Quidditch captain and has to create a new team. He is successful as a captain, despite numerous injuries requiring lots of substitute players. He is also forced to miss the last game of the season as he had detention (due to almost killing Draco). His team did win the Quidditch cup though.
