Assuming you mean during the Battle of Hogwarts, it isn't exactly clear. Harry says there were 50 unnamed people lined up after the battle, including others that he knew. It's possible that wasn't all of the dead so at least 70+ died at the battle.
The character of Hedwig is female, she is played by male owls (female snowy owls have dark patches of plumage, while only the males are completely white, as Hedwig is).
