It was said NORMA JEAN BAKERS mother which was (Marilyn Monroe) before she changed her name...
had a mental illness long before she was born. So Probably around the 1920's. She did however out live her famous daughter in the end.
According to some reports Marilyn Monroes psychiatrist Dr Ralph Greenson diagnosed her as a borderline paranoid schizophrenic and some reports state that she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. She did display many of the characteristics of both illness. It may be interesting to note that Marilyns mother spent most of her life in hospital due to paranoid schizophrenia and both of her grandparents suffered from some form of mental illness.
Gladys Monroe Baker, mother of Norma Jeane Mortensen (aka Norma Jeane Baker), who became Marilyn Monroe, was diagnosed during her life as suffering from paranoid schizophrenia and, as a result, Gladys both voluntarily and involuntarily spent considerable time in and out of the mental hospitals. According to two of Marilyn's psychiatrists, Marilyn also suffered from the same illness, exacerbated by anxiety and depression, which were also factors in her mother's condition. Numerous respected modern psychologists, having reviewed both women's medical records following MM's death, attribute their similar conditions not to schizophrenia but instead to a combination of depression and grossly mismanaged and ill-advised combinations of medications over a long period of time. In MM's case, and likely in some degree her mother's as well, her depression was exacerbated by early experiences of abandonment and subsequent identity issues, and psychological, and in MM's case physical, abuse at a young age. Marilyn was deemed to be very intelligent and despite her upbringing and way she achieved fame she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress and person as well. She was well read and was interested in politics and many different subjects.
Gladys Baker Mortensen, the mother of Marilyn (her exact father is not known), was taken to a mental hospital in 1935 January. However, Gladys had a long history of mental instability prior to that, and many of her close relatives had also been committed to mental institutions. Gladys' exact condition in not completely clear, due to ambiguous diagnoses and inexact records.
Hi
Marilyn's mother died in 1982
None she was ever officially diagnosed with.
As she was a orphan , it is hard to tell who exactly were her parents , she was called Normah Jean. wtf? no she wasn't. it was spelled Norma Jeane. They Knew Who Her Mother, Gladys, was. her fathers name is still unknown. she was an orphan because her mother was put into a mental institution at a young age.
Anxiety
medication and counselling
schizophrenia
None she was ever officially diagnosed with.
Yes, there is a statistical correlation that if someone in a family is diagnosed with a mental illness the probability is higher that others in the family will also have mental disorders (relative to a family with no known individuals with diagnosed mental illness). The cause of this correlation is unknown, but is believed to have both genetic and environmental contributions.
She was born as Norma Jeane Mortenson, and her mother suffered mental illness
I believe he's been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Depends on the illness. 1) Concern 2) Getting help 3) being assesed 4) Diagnosed 5) Treatment...........life

Yes. If you have EVER been diagnosed with a mental illness is a valid and legal question, the same as being asked if you were EVER convicted of an offense.
Sinusitis is not caused by mental illness. Mental illness can be caused by sinusitis infection.
not guilty by reason of mental illness
Mental illness predates recorded history.
Your parents should already know. The only way to truly know if you have a mental illness is to be diagnosed by a doctor, and if you are underage, your parents will be told. If you have diagnosed yourself, it isn't accurate and you could easily be wrong.
