CHECK THE FUSE FOR THE BRAKE INTERLOCK TO SEE IF ITS BLOWN.IF THATS NOT THE PROBLEM THEN ITS MOST LIKELY GONNA BE THE BRAKE SWITCH WHICH IS LOCATED UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL.

Put it in gear and try to start the car. Then put it in either park or neutral and try to start it.Cranks in gear or doesn't crank in park/neutral: switch is bad.Doesn't crank in gear but cranks in park/neutral: switch is good.
Just the crank. The flywheel is neutral.
Be sure it is in park or neutral.
make sure the car is all the way in park or neutral.
That would be a safety feature and is normal.
If you have to wiggle the shift lever in park or neutral to get the starter to crank the engine, the neutral safety switch is probably worn or out of adjustment.
Usually either Park (P) or Neutral (N). Pretty much any car will only crank in those gears, and even if the car could crank in other gears it would probably damage or destroy the transmission
Either the neutral lockout switch, an electrical connection or the keyswitch. If it's a stickshift it could be the clutch pedal lockout switch.
yes there is but i am unsure of where it sits on the engine. i am unable to get spark to my plugs and most people have told me the problem is the crank sensor.
crank shaft sensor is near the oil filter. I have the repair manual but I am unable to past the page in here.
check for bad crank sensor!!
Either it starts and dies, or it will not crank.Either it starts and dies, or it will not crank.
