towards the end. very much towards the end. he plays a game they call "real or not real" with all of them to sort out the memories that really happened and the ones implanted in by the capitol

∙ 12y agoAlmost towards the end of the book, after Peeta, katniss, Gale and everyone else on that squad are sent out to fight against the capitol. It takes time though, but they keep playing the game "Real or Not Real" and eventually after remebering some of the good memories he had with Katniss, he begins to love her again.
