∙ 16y agoFrank Rudy invented and patented the famous Air Sole technology - but did not invent or begin Nike. (Nike was started by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman) The original Patent has now expired as was stated as "A permanently flexible pressurised membrane" Nike was a standalone company who saw value in his footwear idea and worked with him on developing further. Rudy previously had offered this "Air Unit" technology to the other leading athletic footwear brand like Adi, but they turned him down.
