Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was banned in England and America by several Catholic churches around the time it first came out in England (it was released in the US shortly after).
The Catholic religion thought that the references to "sorcery" and "wizardry" were a sin to God, and believed that J.K. Rolwing used the figure of Voldemort to make a religious statement about the devil.
However, the uproar eventually died down - obviously churches can't literally "ban" a book because that violates the US Constitution. However, many churches discouraged the reading of the series, which is unfortunate because it has nothing whatsoever to do with certain religious beliefs and/or groups.
The Harry Potter books were never banned. Unless there is a rule for you that you can't read them, and if that is the case then you should know the answer, not some random person on the internet
Harry Potter has been banned by some places since the books came out. It's hard to give an exact date as the release dates for other countries are different.
I am not aware of this book (or film) being banned anywhere.

Richard Harris
Fluffy is a three headed dog in harry potter and the sorcerers stone (harry potter and the philosophers stone as a England copy). He guards the sorcerers stone in the 3rd floor corridor, along with a series of obstacles made by the teachers in Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. He is indeed a character in that book.
Hermione helps Harry and Ron get past the devil's snare on their way to find the sorcerers stone. And she also solves Snape's riddle for Harry so he can get into the room where the sorcerers stone is.
It's the same as Ron and Harry's. It only changes in Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter 3).That's why she got the time turner.

The first Harry Potter is called Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone but was published in the USA as Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. I do not believe J.K Rowling ever considered another name for it.
