What Disney's Princess Dress would Rarity's Gala Dress be?

This is a tough question. I would think that Rarity would pick Cinderella's ball gown because she would be able to add lots of gems to it since that classic Cinderella gown sparkles so much, (And we all know how much Rarity loves gems). However the simplicity of Cinderella's dress may be a little too plain for Rarity. So I would imagine she would also consider wearing Aurora's dress from Sleeping Beauty. This beautiful tasteful off the shoulder gown would be a classy look for Rarity. Since the dress is sometimes pink, sometimes blue, Rarity could play with the color of the dress, while still remaining true to the chic style that would turn heads at the Grand Galloping Gala. Of course this is all my opinion- there are many beautiful Disney dresses that would inspire Rarity's Gala dress!!

What type of clothes Cinderella wore?

There are many different scenes in the movie, and Cinderella wears something different in each scene. At first Cinderella wears an old gown that is ragged, tattered and badly worn. When the fairy godmother is presented in the movie, she provides Cinderella with proper and more formal clothing, until the big night of the ball. The fairy godmother arranges a beautiful, big formalistic dress.

You couldn't wear a petticoat with a mermaid wedding dress unless it was specifically cut in the shape of the mermaid dress. A petticoat is made to flare out the skirt which you would see in a ball gown or flared tea length gown of the 50's.
