I think this sander is a throw away item unfortunately. I tried to get at the brushes but they were sealed in during manufacture. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it is a lousy piece of engineering.

∙ 8y agoYou cannot effectively get at them (as another helpful answerer has pointed out) , but this was a cheap and useful tool. I got 3 of them when they came out because they cost about 20 something.
I "lose " so many tools like this on building sites it's more cost effective to buy a cheap tool that may last a year than a 300 dollar one that may get "lost" in the first year you use it.
