The X-men's home base is usually in Salem Center, Westchester, New York, USA at the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

However, they have had home bases everywhere from California to the Australian outback. Most recently, the Xavier school in New York was renamed the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning in New York, and Cyclops opened his own school in California, under the Xavier legacy.

Many X-men have also been a part of other teams (Avengers, Starjammers, X-Force, etc.) or been on solo adventures on which they live somewhere else for an extended period of time, their "base" so to speak.
