Where do you find heart scales on ss and hg?

Sadly, it is impossible to obtain on Fire Red. 1. it would be useless on fire red anyways, as it is an item that is used for move tutoring on ruby/sapphire/emerald. 2. It is only found on one pokemon, Luvdisc. (found only on ruby/sapphire/emerald)

you can get a heart scale in Pokemon pearl by using the explorer kit and mining in certain areas of the walls, you have a 1 in 18 chance of finding a heart scale, also you can tell where to mine by the pulsing walls on the top screen and also by tapping the touch screen

What you could do is go to the pok'eleathon (fly to national park) and play the sports to get enough points to purchase one if they have them that day.If you can deal with the tedious work (only possible if you have the listed games and 2 ds') is that in diamond ,pearl ,and platinum you can go under ground and easily find heart scales then equip to the Pokemon to trade ,take the heart scales then trade the Pokemon back.

I got 2 heart scales from my pokewalker after I connected with someone else's, or the beautiful beach route on the pokewalker. Other than that, I don't know.
