Where do you get magmar on platinum?

In Pokémon Diamond, you can get a Magmarizer from wild Magby. Wild Magby can be found in the Stark Mountain and in Route 227 as long as you have Pokémon LeafGreen inserted into the Gameboy Advanced slot of the original DS or the DS Lite.

To get Magmar, you have to evolve Magby, which you find on Route 225 and Stark Mountain when Pokemon Leaf Green is in the GBA slot. Magby evolves at level 30.

You can't find wild Magmars, BUT if you have Pokemon Leaf green in your D.S, then you can rarely find Magby's!

you can get it in mt ember in one island check in the grass parts tip:the closer you are to the cave where moltres is in the most likely magmar will appear but its rare

You can find magmar in burned tower at level 14 and 16 on the first floor and in the safari zone on the peak in morning and day (The peak is the highest point in the safari zone).
