In the Marvel comics group ( not the original Cap by the way) he was Captain Marv-ell or Mar-Vell of the Cosmic Kree ( an alien race) he was sent to earth to analyze and ultimately, destroy the planet! This Captain Marvel- Green and Yellow costume, had a change of heart and took advantage of time delays ( a good science-fiction touch) to avoid dealing with Colonel Yon-Rogg. He"s an alien being, so has no earthly home town or base. This is the Marvel comics character, not the earlier DC man with a red shirt and a yellow lightning bolt insigne. That Captain Marvel assumed the combined powers of most of the Greek Gods on uttering the word=-SHAZAM!
