∙ 12y agoIt was over the helm for hades. When Percy saw ares had the helm he wanted it and said he would fight ares for it. Ares said no and sent a large bull like creature at him, only for Percy to jump out of the way and have the ocean grab the bull and take it out to sea. After that ares and Percy fought. Percy eventually out smarts ares and cuts his heel. In the book ares causes all the trouble not luke.

Percy suprises everyone by beating Luke, who was "the best swordsman in 300 years" when it was his first time. He is able to do this because, even though it is not revealed til later on in the book, he is a son of Poseidon thus when watertouches him, it gives him special abilities.
