Shane West is currently on a European Tour with the iconic 70's punk bandThe Germs. He filled the spot of their original lead singer (Darby Crash) who had committed suicide on December 7, 1980. Shane West played the role of Darby in the 2007 biopic What We Do Is Secret. When asked in a 2008 interview, "Whose idea was it to relaunch the Germs with you in it?" Shane replied, "I don't know whose idea it was, but -- I mean, it might've been just a collective idea, but... had a lotta fun just doing it. And Don and Lorna and Pat had a lotta fun being on set and watching the musical performances. When we ran out of financing the first time, we had a wrap party where Pat made the Baby Germs perform. We played four or five songs and then the real Germs got onstage (which they hadn't done in twenty-five years) to play.. umm.. about four more songs with me singing. It was a great reaction. They decided to do a couple of shows with me as the singer and they went really well... and then... they just had so much fun doing it. We just kind of kept playing and been doing it for the last couple years."
