Fear the Walking Dead began with the initial zombie outbreak and has proceeded no more than a week or two from then. The original Walking Dead timeline started with Rick's awakening some time after the initial outbreak (almost certainly at least a week after but no more than 2 or 3 at most.) So FtWD's timeline is up to right around the start of WD's timeline, but of course that timeline was progressed upwards of 2 years or more past that, so it's highly unlikely the storylines will ever cross due to the time and physical distance involved.
