I have an O'keefe Merritt electric cooktop which was made in 1965 so they were manufacturing at that time. Hope that helps. I need parts. any clues? O'keefe & Merritt went bankrupt and their assetts were bought by the Tappan company in the early 1980's. Tappan discontinued the name and used the factory to produce their ranges.

The model number and the unit's serial number is important for determining when an appliance was made. Look for a white sticker, usually in the storage drawer of the stove, listing the model and serial number. Once you have this information, call Kenmore at 1-888-KENMORE and share this with the operator. They will be able to inform you of the production date, usually to the month and year.
