Get to the point where you have to go to get the Red Gem?

Go the locked gates on the other side of the volcano click on them then talk to the village elder. Take Piplup from a hia valley quest as you will encounter an Infernape and Heatran which both start off easy 'cos their first moves don't always work (but take caution, sometimes they do) and don't try to catch them when they use magma bomb(explosions).

You have to press A on the shield then go out and go to the rooms on the right and left and capture the 2 riolus. There is one in each room. Then go back to the shield and press A again. Press YES to the question. The riolus will destroy the shield. Then keep going and you'll stop and you have to battle Lucario. But you do all that after you beat Ice and his Frosslass.

go to volcano cave but enter from the right by getting permission from the elder. you have to go a long way and capture a heatran so be prepared
