Here's a condensed breakdown of habitats by TYPES.
*Other Pokemon of this type are either evolved forms, or sub-types
*Water: obviously in and near bodies of water of any size. Ponds, lakes, rivers, and especially the Sea.
*Fire: there arnt many fire types in emerald, but In and around the two mountains would be your best bet.
*Grass: Check Forests for grass types. Oddish and shroomish are Two common Pokemon.
*Rock: Caves are basically the only place to find these. Nosepass is found in granite cave. Geodude has been around since the dawn of time, and can be found in nearly every cave.
*Ground: Your best bet for Ground types is the Desert north of Mauvlle.
*Dark: Poochiena and absol are the only Pure dark types in Emerald, the former can be found nearly anywhere. Absol lives east and southeast of Fortree city.
*Psychic: Ralts, Abra, and Spoink are the only pure Psychics, Abra found in many caves, and ralts in the area between petalburg and odale. Spoink is found on Jagged pass.
*Steel: Aron is found in granite cave and Lairons are encountered in victory road.
*Flying: Tailows are found northeast of Rustboro, and petalburg woods. Zubats in granite cave. Note that not all Pokemon with flying stat can use fly ie. Ninjask, and not only flying types can use fly, ie Flygon
All other types can be found scattered all over Hoenn, with no particular habitat.
