Go through Iron Island after you get in the last room there will be a cave to the left but go down the lift and to the right there is a shiny stone.
In Pokemon Diamond and Pearl you can get a shiny stone in the underground area using the Explorer kit you get from the one person in Eterna. If you didn't know already you can use the kit almost anywhere and once your under ground you just touch the bottom screen and the stars at the top are were you can find treasure including shiny stones.

I got one at the end of Iron Island. You go to Canalave city and take the boat to Iron Island. You have to be pretty far in the game to get a ride from him. Go through iron island all the way (by the way you'll meet this guy that will help you along the way, and in the end he'll give you a riolu egg) and there will be a shiny stone somewhere at the end.

After purchasing the item, you need to use it on the corresponding Pokemon. If you need me to elaborate here's what i mean: You need to use the Shiny Stone on a 'Shiny' Pokemon, you may go into 'Set up my team' and click on your Pokemon to do this, after clicking on it, scroll down to 'Attach item', click on that then 'Use' the shiny stone on it, this is basically equipping it, then you can also evolve it from there.

red gyrados is actually a 'shiny' gyrados, meaing it's just a weird thing that the Pokemon games have were every couple 10,000 Pokemon or so. so in order to obtain a red gyrados you would have to go through quite a lot of finding a shiny gryados or shiny magikarp(if you evolve taht it should stay shiny)

No, the egg will not be shiny. However, it is possible that the egg will hatch into a shiny Pokemon, but the chances of getting a shiny Pokemon from the egg are not any higher than they would be if the ditto were not shiny.
