I used alakazam, noctowl, and gengar, but kadabra and haunter would work too. Get gastly at mansion in eterna forest and evolve, get noctowl at safari zone (at night; you can change the time in settings to night), area 1 and 2, and get kadabra at route 215. Hope this helped...

Look at all the contests then what you can do is look at your Pokemon's summary and it will tell which moves are cute, tough, smart, etc. and whichever one of you Pokemon has the most of those moves is the best to enter. But it doesn't really matter you can enter any of your Pokemon as long as they match the acquirement of the competition. Hope i helped. :)
