Which starter should i choose in Pokemon platinum chimchar or piplup or turtwig and what Pokemon should you catch after to beat Pokemon league?

I think Piplup is the strongest, since it evolves into an Empoleon (Water/Steel type). But it depends on what Pokemon you are going to catch after that. If you want a fire type Pokemon like Ponyta (for example), Chimchar is out, and so on.

It depends on your stat preference.

Torterra prefers physical over special and Speed.

Infernape prefers offense and Speed over defense.

Empoleon prefers special over physical and Speed.

Since Torterra has low Speed and Sp. Def, it can be 1-hit KO by Ice Beam (4x advantage).

Special > Torterra > physical, in terms of the type of enemies that Torterra faces.

Empoleon has low Speed and Def, so it can be 1-hit KO by Earthquake.

Physical > Empoleon > special, meaning that Karate Chop beats Empoleon, but it can beat Milotic.

(Speed is mentioned because it is vital to battle. A slower Pokémon would get hit first, risking the chances of a 1-hit KO before it can fight back.)

Infernape has high Speed, so it gets the better chance of 1-hit KO first, though it can be KO'ed later on if it can't fend off well enough against a slower Pokémon.

If you start with turtwig your game will be sort of easyer but a challenge is to have a piplup
because turtwigs razorleaf will hurt gardenias roserade and a couple other ones for a one hit ko most of the time and itl be a grotle ready for crasher wake who is very hard at that point of the game so youl have more of a chance.
