Albert Frederick Arthur George Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, later changed by King George V to Windsor, who's nickname was Bertie, was the second son of King George V and Queen Mary of Teck. He married the Honorable Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes - Lyon at Westminster Abbey and they had two daughters, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. After the abdication of King Edward the VIII, Albert became King George VI taking the title after his late father, and his wife Elizabeth became Queen Consort. Later, better known to us as the Queen Mother. After the death of King George VI on February 6, 1952 due to lung cancer, his eldest daughter became the current Monarch, her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, who celebrated sixty years on the British throne in 2012.
