The Elder wand changed hands many times throughout it's life. Albus Dumbledore won the wand from Gellert Grindelwald in 1945 and owned it until his death in 1996.
As Draco Malfoy disarmed Dumbledore immediately before his death, he become the owner of the wand (something nobody knew). Harry Potter later disarmed Draco and became the owner.
After reparing his own wand, he returns it to Dumbledore's grave which meant that if Harry died a natural death - he would be the last owner of the Elder wand.
In the movie he snaps it in half and throws it away.
~Yes it means Harry controls the Elder Wand. Because the Elder wand is controlled by whoever defeats its previous welder(owner).Notes:1. Voldemort killed himself (accidentally).2. Neither Snape or Voldemort has ever been the real master of the Elder Wand. (Read the book for more information.)Another reply: Yes, Harry controls the elder wand - but not for the reasons given in the question. The way Harry explained it:It was not really Snape who defeated Dumbledore, but Draco Malfoy. This made Draco the owner of the elder wand.Harry later defeated Draco, becoming the owner of the elder wand.
Malfoy never held or owned the Elder Wand. He was the Master of the Elder Wand because he had disarmed Dumbledore, who was the owner of the Elder Wand. Harry later disarmed Malfoy, so he became the Master of the Elder Wand.
I am not aware that there is any ancient writing on the elder wand.
The elder wand is buried with him
Severus Snape never has the Elder wand, nor was he ever its master.

The "Elder Wand" was made by Death himself.

No. The elder wand is the most powerful wand in all the wizarding world.
It is merely made out of an elder tree because it's the Elder wand..

No.
I think I would prefer Dumbledore’s wand *the elder wand.* It is known as the most powerful wand in the world and Ron’s is a bit weak.
The Elder wand is unbeatable, Voldemort wanted to be all powerful and unbeatable.
There's no symbols on the Elder Wand. (Perhaps in the film, but the films have nothing to do with the book.)
