Her first marriage was to Harold Nicholas (one of the famous Nicholas Brothers) on September 6th, 1942, but when her only child, Harolyn was told to have brain problems, she divorced him in October, 1951.
She married again on June 22, 1959 to Jack Denison. Her friends had told her he only wanted her for her money, and they proved to be right, when he got abusive and took her money, cutting her off from the world. Dandridge became pregnant, but did not want to risk having another handicapped child, so she got an abortion. She divorced him, hurt and depressed, on December 20th, 1962.
