Arthur Lake played Dagwood in the movies of the 1930's and 1940's and the 1957 TV series. Frank Welker played Dagwood in Blondie & Dagwood (TV 1987).
Blondie Nation's birth name is David F. Maddox.
Blondie Bumstead's maiden name in Chic Young's comic strip was Boopadoop. However, if you are familiar with the 28 Blondie movies, they mistakenly had a few names as her maiden name. In the first Blondie movie in 1938 her mother is called Mrs. Miller, implying Blondie's maiden name would indeed be Miller. However in a later movie, "Blondie Goes To College", Dagwood says she was Blondie Smith when he met her. But of course, it's wise to go with the creator of Blondie all together which means Boopadoop is correct. Apparently Betty Boop was her half-sister and she shortened it when she went into show business. :)
blondie will be 65 on July 1. She was born July 1, 1945.

Dagwood's neighbor boy is Alexander "Alex" Bumstead. He is the son of Dagwood and Blondie Bumstead in the comic strip "Blondie," created by Chic Young. Alex often engages in various adventures and mischief, reflecting the youthful spirit of the series. The comic strip humorously depicts family life and suburban challenges, with Alex frequently interacting with Dagwood and the other characters.
