BiographyJenny is a mother of three adult children who has worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years. For the last 15 years she has co-ordinated a playcare facility in an area of high deprivation. Jenny also worked for the charity Volunteer Reading Help training new volunteers and fundraising for the local group.

She was elected in Northampton as a district councillor 3 years ago and as a county councillor 1 year ago. Jenny is currently the shadow porfolio holder for children and young people. This position has widened her knowledge of education and social care issues.

Prior to being involved in local politics Jenny was a community activist involved in the local residents association and fundraising for the local school. Her first campaign to safeguard the future of the facility she runs led to her being elected as a local councillor. Since then she has been involved in the campaign to save post offices.

Jenny is committed to protecting services for the most vulnerable members of society, speaking out at council meetings against the closure of care homes and cuts to services for children and their families, the elderly, and people with a disability.

Before becoming a councillor Jenny found the time to return to education. She studied at the University of Northampton and graduated with a BA degree in History. One of her interests is the preservation of important historical buildings for the enjoyment and education of future generations.
