She was a really good actress & had a beautiful singing voice. Two of her most famous children's movies are Mary Poppins & The Sound of Music. What do I mean "was"?? She is still alive & making movies (idk of any recent ones though).

Julie Andrews first became famous on Broadway for her starring role in My Fair Lady as Eliza Doolittle. However, after Mary Poppins was released in 1964 and The Sound of Music in 1965 (both were movies in which Julie Andrews starred), she became most widely known for her roles as Mary Poppins and Maria von Trapp (Sound of Music).

Julie Andrews also became famous to television audiences across America not just on Broadway and on records when she starred in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, seen by over 107 million people on the night of March 31 1957, Rodgers & Hammestein wrote it especially for her, when they failed to get her for their stage musical 'Pipe Dream' in 1955, she auditioned for Rodgers & Hammerstein, by she chose what became 'My Fair Lady' instead she was lucky as 'Pipe Dream' was one of R&H's rare less successful musicals.
