Kneviel was a motorcycle stunt rider. He tried jumping all kinds of things like rows of buses trucks cars and so on. And he jumped most of them but was hurt several times with broken bones and so on. He was going to jump the Grand Canyon or tried I don't remember for sure but you can most likely look that up. All and all he was a very brave man willing to try and do things that no one else had done or wanted to.
