Probably Mickey Mouse, the cartoon dates to l928 ( a Disney original) Kermit ( originally not a true frog but a ( Frog-like Creature) only came out as part of the Muppets act in the mid-sixties. The muppets traipsed about on various variety shows long before taking up residence at- Sesame Street.

The way I see it, Mikey Mouse was famous in his day & Hello Kitty is famous today. I'm a Hello Kitty fan myself, so you would think I would say Hello Kitty, but in reality, it's most likely Mikey Mouse.

The reason why I think that is that the world population is mostly boys. Boy's don't like things girls like - it's the way of life - so most boy's will like Mikey Mouse, even if they absolutely hate him. That's what I think anyway, but you can have your own opinion.
