At this moment, the queen is Beatrix. Due to some some tradition, the husband / wife of the person who is part of the royal family and becomes king / queen not automatically also becomes king / queen, but is called prince / princess.
Before he died, the husband of Beatrix was prince Claus (von Amsberg).

∙ 15y agoWe don't have a King, we have a Queen: Queen Beatrix. Her husband died a few years ago, but he wasn't called King, he was called Prince and did not have any reigning power at all. He was purely decorative.
