Tyrone Power was an American actor (1914-1958) who was a major matinee idol from 1937-1958. He is considered one of the handsomest men to ever appear in movies. Some of his films are In Old Chicago, The Mark of Zorro, The Rains Came, Alexander's Ragtime Band, Marie Antoinette, The Razor's Edge, Nightmare Alley, Captain from Castile, The Long Gray Line, The Eddy Duchin Story, and Witness for the Prosecution. However, all of his films were very popular, and he often had two or three films in the top ten box office for a given year. He is still considered one of the top box office stars of all time, and that includes modern film stars like Johnny Depp, George Clooney, and Leonardo di Caprio. He died while making a film in Spain in 1958. His son, tyrone Power IV, was born two months after his death.
