The brands of spotting scopes that are the best is Alpen, Burris, Bushnell, Leupold, Nikon, Simmons, Tasco, Vortex, Yukon and Zeiss. I believe any one of these makes would meet your needs.

A LOT of the ones I've seen recently appear to be Simmons , judging by the trim on the Adjustable Objective and the elevation/windage knobs... I don't know what kind of warranty they carry but generally speaking they aren't holding up as well as the Simmons do. It's all in the quality control and how good they must be to please the customer (In this case Dick's)
