The Jungle Book
"The Thing" (1982). Directed by John Carpenter. Stars Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, Keith David, Richard Dysart. One of the few Hollywood films that has no women in the cast.
Walt Disney did not create the Jungle Book. He adapted it (badly) from the original Rudyard Kipling stories. The Jungle Book was the last movie Walt Disney personally worked on. Development began after the Sword in the Stone (1963) and continued unti the movies release in 1967
It was released in 1963.

I think you might be referring to "The Sword in the Stone." I've never seen it, but that's the only Disney movie with SWORD in the title. :) I think its actually Quest for Camelot! I thought it was sword in the stone too haha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_for_Camelot
The sword's name in Disney's "The Sword in the Stone" is Excalibur. It is the legendary sword stuck in the stone that can only be pulled out by the true king of England.

Whoso Pulleth Out This Sword of this Stone and Anvil, is Rightwise King Born of All England-- T H White; The Once and Future King; 1958 US ed. pg 201
In the Disney animated movie The Sword in Stone, Arthur, nicknamed Wart by Merlin, is accompanying Kaye to a joust as his squire. Wart forgets Kaye's sword and is headed back to fetch it when he comes across a sword embedded in stone. Wanting to get back to the tournament as soon as possible he decides to pull the sword from the stone and take it back to Kaye. What Wart didn't realize was that this sword was placed in the stone to be pulled from the stone only by the "rightwise born King of England." Others had tried but not been able to remove the sword. Wart easily pulls the sword from the stone and is acknowledge by everyone as Arthur, King of England.

The Sword and the Stone. The young Arthur was his pupil. He had a pet owl named Archimedes and lived in the leaky 'guest' tower at the castle.
