Governor Huey Long (The Kingfish-from a character on the radio show, Amos and Andy) from Louisiana gained some support for his "Share the Wealth" program. This would place taxes on the very wealthy and no personal incomes on more than one million dollars a year would be allowed. This appealed to the poor and middle class.
Amos 'n' Andy (television show) Season 2, Episode 2 - "The Antique Shop". Kingfish sets his sights on a $250 sales commission by finding someone to buy an antique shop. Andy, of course, is the prospect. As such, Kingfish tries to convince Andy to sell his gas stocks because atomic power will make gas irrelevant and Andy's stocks worthless. Kingfish explains fission, "Now you see Andy, first the atom splits into what they call the monocle. And then the monocle busts and breaks down into what they call neutrons, poktrons, fig newtons and morons."
Amos and Andy In the TV show Amos and Andy, the main characters Andy Brown and George "Kingfish" Stevens belonged to the Mystic Knights of the Sea Lodge. However, it is an exaggeration to say that the show was "based on" this club.
Kind of shocked that such a classic line seems to be lost{at least here). The line was a standard reply by the character the KingFish, on Amos and Andy, when caught in one of his many lies.
