Edoras is capital of Rohan where king Theoden lives. In the movie, there were a few important events that occurred there: when Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas came and Gandalf saved Theoden from Saruman's spell, or when the Palantir attacked Pippin.
In the book, Gamling survives the attack on Helm's Deep, returning with Gimli after the battle. In the movie, a Warg (kind of a wolf) kills Gamling. An Orc-Scout was riding the Warg. This happens when the people of Edoras are heading for Helm's Deep.
In the movie, Merry gives Pippin the last of the Longbottom Leaf they salvaged from Isengard. This is contrary to the book because Merry actually gives the last of his to Saruman. In the book, there is no exchange.

if you mean the opening narration in the first movie, that was Cate Blanchett, as Galadriel but the books are from third person narrative, and their focus shifts from Frodo/Sam to Legolas/Aragorn/Gimli and also Merry and Pippin
The ship that took Frodo Baggins, Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Elrond, and Galadriel to the Undying Lands was simply called the White Ship. Unlike the movie, Merry and Pippin arrived after the ship had sailed then they and Sam returned to the Shire together.
This is the age where the fellowship of the ring ends. I know because i have a book that has all the facts about what happen after the third and and last movie. Aragorn name is changed to Ellesar and he becomes lord of the land. Merry and Pippin are now noble warriors for Gondor and Rohan. Sam becomes mayor of the Shire 7 times. At the end Aragorn dies and he is lain next to Lord Pippin and Merry. Legolas built a big grey ship in Ithilien and sailed to the end of the sea, and also Gimli the dwarf goes with him. And when that ship passed the edge of the sea, an end was come to the fellowhip of the ring.
Well, they don't split up in the beginning they split up more towards the end, probably in the middle, but they split up when Boromir dies, and Merry and Pippin are carried off by Uruk-hai, and Frodo realizes its his quest not theirs and he leaves alone except Sam nearly drowns but gets to come.

That's a really hard question to answer because there are so many actors in The Lord of the Rings movies :) but here are the actors who played the characters of the fellowship: Frodo Baggins: Elijah Wood Samwise Gamgee: Sean Astin Peregrin (Pippin) Took: Billy Boyd Meriadoc (Merry) Brandybuck: Dominic Monaghan Gandalf: Ian McKellen Legolas: Orlando Bloom Aragorn: Viggo Mortensen Gimli: John Rhys-Davies Boromir: Sean Bean If you want a longer list I would go to the internet Movie Database and get the full listing.
The Lord of the Rings is a great movie and a great book. (If you haven't, read the book, READ IT!) It has many characters. The main 9 are Frodo, Sam, Pippin, Merry, Gimli, Legolas, Aragorn, Gandalf, and Boromir. Sauron is the bad guy. There are many races, of course. Here are the evil races: orcs, trolls, nazgul, (otherwise known as black riders, and the nine.), and more. Then the good races are hobbits, men, elves, and dwarves. :) i hope this answered your question!
In the movie The Lord of the Rings, the character Arwen is played by the actress Liv Tyler.
