Finding a voice for Snow White was a tough assignment, but (finally!) Adriana Caselotti got the part.
From a Disney website: "Finding a voice suitable for Snow White was one of the animators' hardest pre-production tasks. One day, Disney's casting director telephoned Guido Caselotti (a well-known voice coach) to get some voice talent references. Overhearing the conversation, Caselotti's 19-year-old daughter, Adriana, got on the phone to sing and banter in a young girl's voice. The embarrassed father ordered her off the line, but not before the casting director had invited her to audition. After Walt heard her, the rest, as they say, was history."
Yes , she provided the voice of Lady Tremaine .
Ilene Woods, the voice of Cinderella in Disney's 1950 animated film, passed away on July 1, 2010. While her iconic portrayal brought the character to life, she is no longer alive. Woods' contributions to the role remain cherished by fans of the classic film.
The story of Cinderella is about a young girl who is forced to live and work for her ugly step sisters. She was treated as second class with no rights. Consequently she did not have a 'voice' and was cast in the role of a passive listener. Her step sisters did all the talking. Listening is therefore described as a Cinderella skill.
