Who were the forty students in Harry Potter's year?

J.K. Rowling first showed the original forty students in a documentary in 2001. She later released the same list on Pottermore, although the one on Pottermore only gives names whereas the full list contains houses and blood status. Rowling appears to have assigned ten students (five of each gender) per house. Not all of the characters houses are known.

Note that not all of these characters made it into the books.
